Serve

Jesus, the Servant King, gave us the ultimate example of service; laying down His life for His people.

As His followers, we are called to love and serve one another in big and small ways. Whether it’s welcoming someone new, encouraging a friend, or praying for those in need, every act of service matters. If you trust Jesus, are growing in love, and seeking to serve, explore the opportunities ahead to use your gifts for the good of our church family. Together, let’s build up Christ’s body and reflect His heart for others. Thank you for the many ways you are already serving the church.

Additional Serving opportunities:

There is an abundance of opportunities to love one another and the communities around us. It is our God-desired outcome to see one or some of the following ministries commence and bear fruit. As of now, the following list are dreams that could turn into realities should we pray and create teams with the appropriate skills and expertise.

If you have a passion to begin a new serving role or want to champion on of these opportunities, please email: admin@gschurch.org.au.

Serving our community

Cooking? Garden Maintenance? Driving? Visiting? Our community needs some love and would be great if you could let us know how you can help. We will only get in touch if needed and if you are not available that is fine but would be amazing to have a groups of people we can call on for community support.

Financial Counseling (Budgeting)

Offer the community a course in how to manage money to help people be free from unhelpful habits, and to train them to be better stewards of their resources. It could function as a bridge to introduce people to The Generous God of the Bible. If you have cultivated a life of generosity and responsibility and are interested in sharing these skills, this could be an opportunity

Conflict Resolution

Everyone struggles with handling conflict in a manner that is kind, calm and works towards reconciliation. We could offer a course that gives some practical tools for people to use in situations of conflict.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Help our cross-cultural community learn English. One of the key barriers to societal participation is the language barrier. ESL classes ran on Saturday mornings for 1-2 hours before the pandemic. Volunteers with experience teaching or learning other languages would be very helpful, but anyone with a good command of English can help.

Seniors in Curtin (the Lonely, Shut-in, and Nursing Care)

Whilst the census reveals a rejuvenation towards young families in the suburb, there is a contingent of neighbours who are ageing. They probably need a helping hand and some companionship. Additionally, a team of people could occasionally visit our local aged care facilities
